Adjustment
Tips
These are Important suggestions to consider for the winter time.
-
Car. It's highly recommendable to replace
your regular tires for winter tires. Even when friends tell you that you
don't need them, you and your family will be safer by using the adequate
tires in your car.
Install a block heater, so your car will be ready to start after low
temperatures (-15 C or lower).
Carry in your trunk the following items: jumpers, shovel, bag of sand,
jacket, winter boots, and a scraper.
-
House. If you are planning to stay away
from home in the winter time, DO NOT TURN OFF your furnace, and have
somebody check your house regularly. Otherwise, your house and pipes
would freeze and break.
Make sure your furnace and insulation are in good working condition.
Remove the snow from entry and access paths.
-
Personal. Wear warm clothing, and check
weather conditions before you go out, to make sure you won't be
overexposed to harsh cold.
Get a good pair of shoes or boots with good grip to walk more safely in
frozen surfaces.
